Creative Housewarming Gift Ideas

So you’re looking for the perfect housewarming gift, huh? You want to do something a little more personal than a bottle of wine? Look no further. We have the perfect guide to the coolest housewarming gifts from (mostly) some of our favorite local businesses.

1.     Our favorite gift to give when a client closes on a new home is a custom painting of their new home from Raleigh artist Jina Kim. Jina’s work is colorful, personal, and just a little bit funky — exactly the vibe we hope to send.

2.     Nothing says “welcome home” like a fresh pie and there’s no one better at baking them than Raleigh’s pie lady, Kristen Mullins, owner of Slice Pie Company. You can stop by their pop up shops, order online, or grab something from The Butcher’s Market. Our personal favorite is Key Lime!

3.     New family pictures in a new home is a fun way to commemorate such a milestone. Emily Ballard of Emily Ballard Photography is known for her Porch Pics. What makes Emily’s work special? In addition to capturing memories with her camera, she is always giving a portion of her proceeds to important causes. In 2020, she raised tens of thousands of dollars for local restaurant worker relief and a scholarship for a dear friend and beloved member of the Raleigh community who lost his life.

4.     You know what it’s like to move — you’ve packed all your things, found a new home, shuttled boxes, and now you’re exhausted. Why not gift a little help? West Domestic offers house cleanings and some of the best organizational help we’ve ever seen! They do our closets!

5.     In addition to getting organized, we could all use a little help styling our homes. Whether you need a full-service designer or a few hours of help styling shelves and hanging art, Lauren Branch of Kefi Home can do it all. She offers gift certificates and you can buy packages by the hour.

6.     We’ve never met anyone who can deny the deliciousness of a custom charcuterie board from Raleigh Cheesy. Born out of her love for cheese, Courtney Bowman, a former school teacher, is the new queen of the stylish spread. They taste just as good as they look.

7.     Do you like the traditional gift of flowers but want to give them a fun twist? Callie Rae of the Foraged Southcreates beautiful, bold arrangements in the most spectacular colors. They would make any new homeowner smile.

8.    If you’re like us, your pets are a huge part of your family! Raleigh is lucky to have the talents of 12-year old Laney Matthews who creates awesome, colorful pet portraits. Once you see her work you’re going to want one for yourself and everyone you know. Kid’s got serious talent! (She gets it from her mama, Jen Matthews, who is also a seriously talented artist and will be featured in a future post.)

9.     Our final suggestion is a great housewarming box from Confetti Betti. It features an adorable cutting board, chocolates, and a selection of cheese, crackers, and sausage. We like this one because it can easily be shipped, so if you’re looking for a gift that needs to head to or from Raleigh, this one is perfect.
